The Right Plant
Every species is chosen for the conditions it will actually live in — not for what's trendy or convenient. A plant that fits its space is a plant that lasts.
Tropicalogy is an interior plant design and maintenance studio in Tampa Bay — built on the belief that every space deserves to feel a little more alive.
Meet Nathan
Too many spaces settle for the same tired plants in the same plastic pots — and call it done.
Nathan founded Tropicalogy to do better than that. The idea was straightforward: bring genuinely thoughtful plant design to Tampa Bay — moving past the predictable species and forgettable containers, and treating each space as its own small ecosystem rather than a shelf to be filled.
What began as a love of plants became a way of working. Whether it's a single plant on a desk or a full atrium, the bar stays the same — choose what will genuinely thrive, style it with intention, and care for it properly. That's the whole philosophy, and it hasn't changed.

Founder & Plant Designer
They're living things — and designing with them well means working with how they actually grow, not just how they look on day one.
A lot of plant installations are really just shopping: pick something green, put it in a corner, hope for the best. It looks fine for a few weeks, then slowly stops looking fine. The plant was never matched to the light it was given, the container was chosen for the showroom rather than the room, and nobody was ever going to keep it healthy.
Tropicalogy works the other way around. We start with the space — its light, its air, its rhythm — and design from there. The right plant in the right place barely needs convincing to thrive. The right container disappears into the room instead of fighting it. And the right care plan means the installation looks as considered a year later as it did on day one. Biophilic design only works when the biology is taken seriously.
A few principles that shape every project, whether it's a desk plant or a building-wide install.
Every species is chosen for the conditions it will actually live in — not for what's trendy or convenient. A plant that fits its space is a plant that lasts.
No filler, no defaults. Containers, placement, and scale are deliberate choices made to suit each space — so a room feels considered, never cluttered.
An installation isn't finished on install day. We design for the long view — and offer the care to back it up — so spaces keep thriving over time.
Offices, homes, restaurants, parties — and every budget. Thoughtful plant design shouldn't be reserved for anyone; it should just be done well.
